Historia

Se consideró reabrir la UNIDAD MATERNO INFANTIL DE CHIGORODÓ, ubicada en el municipio con su mismo nombre, por ser un sitio estratégico y equidistante para los 21 municipios que conforman el Gran Urabá, además de los 3 municipios del Occidente Antioqueño cercano a esta subregión. Esta entidad de salud que hacía falta, se constituyó con unas condiciones que garantizan su operatividad y cumplimiento de objetivos.

Se requirió indispensablemente que fuera una institución sin ánimo de lucro, del tipo fundacional, para asegurar su solidez, universalidad, equidad y que reinvierta sus utilidades en servicios a la comunidad, decidiéndose entonces emprender dicho propósito a través de la Fundación Social de la CLÍNICA SOMA, FUNDACIÓN SOMA. Renace entonces la UNIDAD MATERNO INFANTIL DE CHIGORODÓ, de manos de la FUNDACIÓN SOMA, abriendo sus puertas al servicio a partir del 14 de mayo de 2009.

En el 2026 seremos una institución reconocida por su calidad científica y tecnológica en la prestación de servicios a la población materno infantil.
